Mame - Battle Toads

Download

Battletoads is a video game developed by Rare Ltd. Starring three anthropomorphic toads named after skin conditions (Rash, Zitz and Pimple), the game was created to rival the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games.

The first game was developed by Rare for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991. It was subsequently ported by Mindscape to the Amiga in 1992, by Sega to the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and Sega Game Gear both in 1993, by Rare to the Game Boy in 1993 retitled as Battletoads in Ragnarok\'s World, and by Mindscape to the Amiga CD32 in 1994. Ports for IBM PC and Atari ST were planned by Mindscape but never released. A fully developed Sega Master System version was also kept unreleased by Sega.

It is arguably one of the most graphically advanced video games ever released for the NES, at a time when the video game market was turning to the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The game became famous for its extreme difficulty and humorous ways of beating enemies, as during finishing attacks, the character\'s body parts transform into gigantic, exaggerated appendages for devastating attacks and comic effect.

Mame - Crazy Taxi

Download

The arcade version of the game includes sixty levels, and an additional \"Original\" stage was added for the console versions. Both levels are based in sunny coastal California locales, with steep hills and other strong similarities to San Francisco. North of the map, past the baseball stadium, a high rise city can be found for further adventure. For both levels, the player has a choice of four drivers and their cabs, each of whom has slightly different attributes: Axel is the well-balanced cab choice, BD Joe has the fastest floored speed but least controllability, Gena has the best acceleration/deceleration and braking and Gus has the heaviest cab, enabling him to drive well off-road and even onto most oncoming traffic.

Mame - Cyberball

Download

Cyberball is an Atari Games arcade game of 7-man American football, using robotic avatars of different speeds, sizes, and skill sets. The game replaced the standard downs system with an explosive ball that progresses from \"cool\" to \"warm\", \"hot\", and \"critical\" status as it is used. Players can only defuse the ball, resetting it from its current state back to \"cool\" by crossing the 50 yard line or by change of possession, whether through touchdown, interception or fumble. A robot holding a critical ball while being tackled is destroyed along with the ball. The robots also possess finite durability. As offensive units are tackled, they wear down, finally issuing smoke and then flames after a number of hits. A flaming robot will explode when hit, thereby fumbling the ball. Players can upgrade robots with faster and more durable units using money bonuses they earn during play. Players select from run, pass or option plays on offense, after which the computer presents four individual plays from which to choose. On defense, a player can select short, medium or long defenses, and then select a specific defensive scheme.

Mame - Double Dragon

Download

Double Dragon is a 1987 beat \'em up developed by Technos Japan and distributed in North America and Europe by Taito Corporation. The game is a spiritual and technological successor to Technos\' earlier beat \'em up, Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun (released outside of Japan by Taito as Renegade), but introduced several additions such as two-player cooperative gameplay and the ability to arm oneself with an enemy\'s weapon after disarming them. Double Dragon is considered to be one of the first successful examples of the genre, resulting in the creation of two arcade sequels and several spinoffs, as well as inspiring other companies in creating their own beat \'em ups.

Mame - Hyper Street Fighter 2

Download

Hyper Street Fighter II — The Anniversary Edition is the sixth and final arcade iteration of Street Fighter II, released on December 2003 (nearly ten years after Super Turbo) in Japan, the USA and Southeast Asia only. Hyper was a special version of Street Fighter II produced to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the Street Fighter series. The game system is based on Super Turbo, but with the added feature of being able to select between characters from all five preceding iterations of Street Fighter II. Players can choose between \"Normal\", \"Champ\" (\"Dash\" in Japan), \"Turbo\", \"Super\" and \"Super T\" (\"Super X\" in Japan) versions of the game\'s cast and match against any other version (i.e: \"Normal\" Ken against \"Turbo\" Ryu). Each particular version of a character will have the same set of moves, animation frames and voice samples of the game they represent (with the exception of the \"Champ\" M. Bison, whose Psycho Crusher can only hit up to four times, where in the original arcade Champion Edition the move could score up to six hits on an opponent). Some characters are only available in certain modes: for example Cammy is only available in \"Super\" and \"Super T\", while Sagat is not selectable in \"Normal\". Furthermore, \"Normal\" versions of character cannot be matched against another \"Normal\" version of the same character (i.e: \"Normal\" Guile cannot fight another \"Normal\" Guile). All of the computer-controlled opponents in the single-player mode will fight in \"Super T\" mode only.
